Bandon Dunes…Just keeps getting better
I was blessed to be able to return to Bandon Dunes golf resort last week after being away for years. The 12 of us had a great time.
For those of you not familiar with the golf resort it sits right on the ocean about 7 hours south of Seattle.
It has 4 18 hole golf courses, an incredible par 3 course and an amazing driving range.
The last time I was there was about 5 years ago. Let me tell you, it has only gotten better!
The greens now are wonderful.
The service is impecible as always.
There is now 3 lodging options, all great in their own way.
Our trip started in Florence, Or at a golf course called Sandpines. Beautiful course but it rained all day and the wind was blowing.
So the next day we headed south to Bandon, Or and played a fun course called Bandon Crossings. If you have never played it I highly recommend it. Alot of fun. It didn’t hurt that the sun was out and we were golfing in short sleeve shirts. What a pretty day.
After we golfed we headed to Bandon Dunes, just 10 minutes away.
The service was awesome just like I remembered. So organized and so nice.
Monday we played Bandon Trails, the one course not on the ocean but beautiful in its own right as it takes you through a forrest. The greens here are very undulating as well. And yes, the weather was 55 and cloudy. No rain!
Day 2 another dry day at Pacific Dunes.
This course sits right on the ocean and to me the most fun to play with the reachable par 5’s and fun par 3’s.
Our last day we played Bandon Dunes, the first course built there.
Probably the best pure course of all of them but our luck on the weather ran out. Rain and wind! Part of our group didn’t bothet to fight mother nature that day but 7 of us did. Oh yah, it was pretty miserable but we figured what the heck, we were there.
Bandon Dunes is truly a golfing experience for those of us who love golf. No houses on the courses and no carts.
If you need a bucket list place to go.
Bandon is it.
