Tacoma’s Narrows Park, who knew?
It was one of those rare beautiful sunny mornings that we haven’t had lately. I was determined to enjoy it even if it was Masters Sunday. I figured we had a few hours to go for a nice walk and or hike.
So I looked for some places nearby and found Narrows Park literally under the Tacoma narrows bridge.
I never knew! I have been over the bridge many of times but had no idea there was a park underneath the bridge.
The park itself is only a mile from highway 16 to the south right after you cross the Narrows.
Once you get to the park it is beautiful.
If you are looking for a hard hike this is not it. The park is right on The Puget Sound and is flat.
The good news is you can walk miles in either direction. To walk under the Narrows bridge is quite surreal and a really cool sight.
You will find people fishing off the beach and kayaking as well.
It is very peaceful down there and just being on a beach works for me.
If you are looking for a close place to spend a few hours enjoying the Puget Sound and some tranquility, this is the place
